Our Staff

Janet Lim
ECE (1984), B.ED. (1983)
Janet’s career has always centered around the education and welfare of children. At an early age, Janet found her professional passion and aspired to be an educator.
While completing her Bachelor of Education at UBC, Janet sought practical experience in her employment endeavours and followed current trends by participating in extensive workshops.
Janet volunteered at Kits Area Childcare after graduation and was so inspired by young children that she returned to UBC to complete her ECE certification. That was the beginning of a thirty-plus-year commitment Janet works hard to fulfill to this day.
Janet firmly believes in leading by example, upholding high standards and building on the tradition of excellence at Kits Area. Her goals are to establish a safe, secure and rich environment that parents will confidently enroll their children.

Josie Perri
ECE (1990)
Josie started at KACCS in 1989 as a volunteer and upon finishing her ECE program from Langara, became employed in 1990. She left in 1992 to raise her 2 daughters, Teresa and Angela, with her husband Raf. She happily returned to a part-time position after a decade in 2001 as the Prekinder teacher.
Over the last 2 decades, she has continued to create and evolve the program into a successful preparatory class for 4-year-old children before entering kindergarten. She hopes to be a part of the KACCS family until retirement.

Angela Bolotova
ECE (2001), B.A. (1993)
Angela graduated from university in Ukraine in 1993 and taught children grades 5 to 8. She came to Canada in 1995. Angela graduated from VCC in 2001 and began working as a substitute at Kits Area, and was soon hired on full time. She loves sharing her passion for art and cooking with the children.

In her free time Angela enjoys going on long walks around the city, cooking, and reading.

Maryam M. Abootaleb
ECE (2005), M.Ed. (2004) B.A (1999)
Maryam holds a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. She spent six years teaching school-aged children before moving to Canada with her family, where she discovered a deep passion for early childhood education.
After settling in Edmonton, she began working in the childcare field and grew into a leadership role as Program Supervisor, a position she embraced for 15 years. Maryam values the opportunity to support the learning and development of young children and finds joy in creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
Family is the heart of Maryam’s life, and a recent move to Vancouver brought her closer to her daughters and grandchildren. She enjoys travelling, cooking Persian and Swedish meals, spending time outdoors, and doting on her small but spirited Chihuahua, Micko.
